KNOCK 'EM DEAD: The Ultimate Deadlift Guide for World Class Strength and Skill
The deadlift is the ultimate test of strength. At hardcore gyms, if you are not pulling many wheels, “You ain’t nothin’.”
The “dead” looks deceptively simple: Anyone can pick up a weight from the ground.
True. But not many can pick up a lot of weight-and even fewer can do it without blowing out their backs. “Dead” in the lift’s name is there for a reason.
All top deadlifters are ultimate technicians polishing their skill with as much attention and precision as archers and acrobats. If you are not willing to do this, go find a you-get-what-you-pay-for deadlift tutorial on UA-cam and make an appointment with a chiropractor. But if you are ready to join the club of the strong and the skilled, KNOCK 'EM DEAD is for you.

For us not getting hurt is not enough; our mission is to make you healthier and more resilient! What is AGT?
Excellent advice and demonstration Fabio and Analisa! 💪🙌
Thank you for this video and showing me how to breathe
Smoking helps block out the excess oxygen. O2 is only toxic at 100%, it can cause rusting of the blood.
will there be a discount soon again?
Nice vídeo! How much weight would you recommend for this exercise? assuming that the person presses hard on the bench press
Weight selection is no different for this than for any other exercise. Generally, light weights and higher reps until you are comfortable with the movement, then stick to between 3 and 8 reps, aiming for 1/3 to 2/3 your max reps per set with an particular weight.
Not quite correct… seh should use a smaller weight. It is risky When she is ready then yes. Patience!!!
You guys should be much much bigger on UA-cam with Pavel having podcasts ,sessions, and articles discussion. What the hell are u doing ! You are barely here. I need to search hard for you all over the damn Web.
Thank you Pavel!
Díky.
I hope this comment helps all who are questioning the seriousness of Fabio Zonin and his emphasis on mastery and whether attempt is "legal" or "counts" -- know that this is a **StrongFirst** video. Best kettelebell certification and training program in world with rigorous standards. These principles must be followed to pass exausting cerification events offered worldwide. Research Pavel Tsatsoline online. Otherwise, you can still benefit by limiting injury risk. Just please still respect the kettlebell. Strength is a skill no matter what. Not to be taken lightly. Stay strong my friends. And thank you, Fabio, for this content. Much respect and gratitude.
Same body movement, but one way is against the rules, one way is legal. Got it…
Great stuff
Honestly, how many actually care if it “counts” or not. I just do them. It’s for my own fitness. Since when did lifting something get so judgmental. “ Oh god, I lowered my shoulder! Thank god I’m just in my garage by myself”. 😎
I agree it's easy to get lost in the 'legality' of a lift but I think there is value in taking time to ensure proper form, especially during heavy asymmetric lifts such as this one.
We care because perfect form prevents injustry and allows you to press more weight. It's about respecting the integrity of the skill. But if you are simply a fitness buff or gym enthusiast, you are right. Just be careful with your form. And always respect the kettlebell and Strongfirst masters and principles, even if you do not follow them. Stay strong my friend!💪
I wish there was a way to get two bells into position that are heavy enough to mean something, but for me, I haven't been able to figure it out. Flipping some kettlebells on their side and doing deficit push-ups instead seems much better.
3 chairs is my favorite way to get those done.
👊🏼😉
Pure gold, thanks!
Good one, brother. Thank you!
thank you very much for this tip
Interesting but I don't understand why one method is 'legal' and the other not.
This is related to the movement of the arm. You cannot lower your arm just before pressing the kettlebell as this movement helps with the challenge.
@@MirekKrenc I appreciate that, but doesn't the movement of the arm executed as part of the clean or the negative also 'help with the challenge'? I just don't see why one is 'legal' and the other not. Sorry if I'm being thick.
@@stephenmarks5239 I see your point. The "legal" means in competition or certification exam and the like. There are rules make the whole push legal or not in this context. I hope this will clear up your doubts :)
@@MirekKrenc Rules are rules. I'm incorporating it into my practice today.
@@stephenmarks5239 I gues it's about redirecting the energy. If you lower your arm and then press without pause, you will cheat the press because you produce the energy lowering the arm and then redirecting it with the press (think of it as the regular clean, where you redirect the energy of the kettlebell in hinge compared to dead clean, where you produce the energy without redirecting), so it means, that your press will be easier. And if you lower your arm, pause and then press, you have to produce the energy from the start because of the pause. But it's just my opinion, which can be wrong.
Awesome tip Fabio!
If I understand you correctly, It IS like always. You have to build the foundation, before you build the House and for a Tower this is even more important.
Why is this better or worse than on a bench where you can go deeper?
Does it need to be better or worse, not just different? It might be better if you don't own a bench or a barbell, but if you own those things then do that.
I got this program when it was first released. I've been using kettlebells since 2001 and I still learnt many details that improved my technique. Always learning from Fabio. Brilliant program and highly recommended. I'm in week five of Victorious 1 now to get my pressing strength back after shoulder surgery in November. Previously could do 5R on that shoulder with 32kg, but until February I couldn't even hold 12kg in the rack, let alone press it. Using 20kg for Victorious 1 and already 28kg feels light when I used it in session B of week 5.
Power to you!
Thanks for recommendation, been on fence but now I'll get it too,
If you're not first, you're last!
Great, just needs to be more specific. For example, when he says tension in my leg..WHERE in the leg should you be feeling tension? The knee? In quads? Glutes?
WHERE specifically in your leg are your glutes?
Do it and find out.
Great advice - but lose the music; can't hear you and isn't good
Nice!
Excellent foundational conditioning.
Awesome
Díky.

Nice one
What kettlebells is he using? RKC?
Attempting 2 min efforts on bike/turbo z5 power, done 10, 12 reps. 14, 16, 18 next before deload week for a ruck event.
So interval training , 2 min at threshold and rest for 3-5 for sets . With 1 sustained session at 80% . Correct ?
Explosive "kime" swings and tai chi get ups are the truth. I been running s&s for 3 months now and absolutely love it... Won't be changing programs anywhere in the near future, that's how effective this is.
What about an annual subscription?
Your wish has been granted - there is an annual subscription option now.
This is such a great instructional video. I realized that I wasn't letting the kettlebell swing far enough back between my legs or hinging forward enough. This really made a difference.
That’s a great warmup or workout. Walk a flight, walk down a hall, repeat
So, maybe walk more.
Crushing the bell as you press seems counterintuitive as it’s another thing you have to do that requires energy. However, it works!
This is the kind of detail StrongFirst goes into during our courses and instructor certifications.
Solidifies the kinetic chain, increases neural drive

Awesome explanation. His form is perfect. Thank you for sharing. Love from Nairobi Kenya 🇰🇪
I was struggling with these. We had to do as much as possible within 4min 10 second recess and switch to jump rope. For 1 hour. How can I improve my stamina with the kettle bell I feel like after 20 swings I’m burnt
When you get into your 50’s and beyond it makes a huge difference. HIIT serves little as you age. Maybe once every few weeks to clean up cellular debris, but not all the time.
Joe Rogan got me here.
